The Academy is located on the western side of the city and is part of a larger masterplan redevelopment project. The competition was for the preliminary design of a new academy building and the residential blocks adjacent to the site.

Acting as a gateway to the masterplan from the west, the academy invites you to come and explore. Primarily a place for education, cultural exchange and insight into Islamic history, the design gives the ground floor of the academy and its most accessible program to the people of Heidelberg.
