Given the importance of the Mill, the renovation includes structural preservation and the re-positioning of the original and restored scoop wheel. The restoration of the Pump House includes the construction of a side extension to the Pump House. The Pump House will become accessible from the embankment through a corten steel walkway and will accommodate a cafe and visitor centre with exhibits portraying historical information about the mill and Broads heritage.

The new construction reinterprets the volume of the Pump House. The structure is made from timber and clad with Corten-steel slabs in order to blend in the wider landscape as well as relate to the Pump House brickwork. Large windows will ensure long views of the gentle landscape and framed views of the surrounding historic buildings.
