José del Castillo Baldivieso
José studied at Texas A&M University where he received both his Bachelor of Environmental Design in 2001, and his Master of Architecture degree in 2003.
He worked on various high-end custom residential projects in Dallas, TX before joining HKS Inc. and their Sports & Entertainment division where he got to design large sports stadia such as the Dallas Cowboys stadium, Indianapolis Colts Stadium, Liverpool FC stadium, Minnesota Vikings and numerous proposals for MLB, MLS, and NHL venues, as well as smaller college arenas, velodromes, a horse race track and also collaborated with 3XN on a multi-purpose arena competition in Abu Dhabi.
After 14 years in the US, he started his own practice in Bolivia and collaborated with Pelli Clarke Pelli on their submission for the Tokyo National Stadium competition and participated in a local 70,000 seat stadium competition in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
He then moved to Norway for 12 years where he worked remotely on 20+ restaurant projects in the US before joining Backe Idrettsbygg in Oslo where he was in charge of the design and coordination of smaller sports buildings such as multi-purpose training facilities, velodromes, EA games, hockey skating rinks, mixed-use office buildings and an electric bus charging station.
José is a registered architect in the USA and Norway, and he is fluent in Spanish, English and Norwegian.
He joined ACME Madrid in 2024 where he is working on a high end residential scheme in the UAE.
