Daedalus Waterfront is Planning Awards 2024 - mixed-use development winner! The Planning Awards recognise outstanding work in planning and placemaking so we are honoured to see the project recognised.

We worked with Homes England and Daedalus Development Company (JV w/ MurrayTwohig, Patron Capital, Orwell Real Estate) and the wider team to create the scheme.

The Daedalus Waterfront scheme is an ambitious project that sees a largely abandoned navy base in Lee-on-Solent reimagined with a design-led industrial innovation strategy. The masterplan includes employment work and light industrial spaces to attract new businesses and jobs to the area as well as 350 private and affordable homes. Alongside housing and commercial space, new services and facilities will be provided for the local community, opening up the ex-military site to the public and providing public parks and new pedestrian routes.

Central to the vision is the restoration of the historic buildings, including the WWI hangars that face the Solent strait. These will act as a catalyst for economic development, a gateway to the project and an upgraded home for the Hovercraft Museum that sits on the existing site.
